WHERE THERE IS A GROUP OF STUDENTS BUT NO TEACHER

*Lessons 1 to 4 are organised differently

PART A: Reading Text
New words
Each lesson contains new vocabulary. You can learn these new words using your dictionary. Students in the group can quiz each other on the spelling and meaning of the new words.

In this part, the students acquire new vocabulary.

Reading text (Module 1)
The group listens to the text and reads along silently once. Students discuss to establish that all in the group have understood the text. They listen and read a second time.

In this part, the students learn how the new vocabulary works.

Reading text (Modules 2, 3 and 4)
Students read the text once silently. Students then take turns to read aloud a paragraph each. After this, the students discuss, in English or their native language, to establish that all students have understood the text.

In this part, the student learns how the new vocabulary works.

PART B: Listening Text
New words
As in Part A.

Conversation
The students listen to the recording without looking at the text. They discuss the general meaning of the conversation. The students replay the recording and listen to the text while reading at the same time. After establishing that all in the group understand the conversation, students pair up to practice the conversation, taking both parts. This can be repeated several times until a degree of fluency is attained.
In this part, the student learns speaking skills.

PART C: Comprehension exercise
Students work on their own or in pairs. Answer the questions on-screen. Click the “check” box when the exercise is completed. Check your answers by looking at the example answers. Sometimes a different answer may also be correct.

PART D: Vocabulary and/or grammar exercise
The exercises should be completed in writing and checked. Students help each other with their specific problems.

PART E: Memorization exercise
Eight or ten sentences are presented at once. The students read them and make sure they understand them, if necessary with help from each other. Then the sentences appear singly. Students memorize the sentence and then reproduce the sentence in the gaps.
