Module VI:Post production management |
|
Did you know that in many developing countries between 25 and 50% of the total value of rice grain is lost between harvest and consumption?!? Most losses happen because of poor harvesting, drying and storage methods which all result in poor milling yields.
In this post production module, you will be shown how grain losses can be minimized and rice quality maintained for a longer time period.
Good post production management is all about properly handling and processing the rice (grain) from the time it is harvested on the field until it is ready to be sold at the market. Every operation in the post harvest process is important and needs to be done with care to maintain high grain quality. Below you can see the different operations of post production. |
