It is strongly recommended that you work your way through this and subsequent pages of course help to familiarize yourself with how this CD-ROM works to ensure your eLearning experience is enjoyable and rewarding. More specifically, this section explains:
- how to navigate around this CD-ROM
- what different icons mean
- minimum system requirements
- technical resources needed for this CD-ROM to work effectively
To find your way around this CD, you will need to understand the following concepts/items:
These are coloured, underlined text (eg 'Learners Toolbox' is a link) or icons. When you move the mouse pointer (
)over
one, it will change to a pointed finger (
).
When you click on a link or icon it may either:
- move you to a new page
- open a new window - To close that window click on the small cross at the top right corner, or on the 'close window' button
Menu - The list of sections on the left side of the screen are links. To navigate to a sections, click on its name in the menu. (NB: You must click on the text itself).
Jump Bars - Some sections have a 'jump bar' which provides
a list of sections that you may want to navigate to in addition to the
menu. For details on how to use a jump bar, please refer to the icons
section below.
Tool Tips - Words that are highlighted
in blue which have an information
icon 
next to them will display further information when you place your mouse
pointer over them.
Glossary - Words that are contained in
the glossary are highlighted in blue and have a 
icon next to them. If you click on the word, the glossary will open up
in a new window.

This is an example of a jump bar (closed and open versions are presented here). To view the list of options, click on the arrow on the right side of the bar. To navigate to one of the sections, simply select it from the list. |
