Now that we understand the importance of water to the different stages of rice growth, we can now describe how we can optimize the use water in the field.

In AWD, we can alternately irrigate the rice fields depending on the growth stages of the plant. With AWD we do not need to irrigate our rice fields when the do not see some water on it.

Here’s how AWD can be practiced in your rice fields.

Click on each of the stages. As the irrigate button appears, click on it to irrigate the field.
